Overview :
Provides oversight, guidance, and training to the associates within the retail distribution operation to ensure company goals are achieved. Performs functions to support the retail distribution operations in the daily distribution of merchandise to the retail stores. Assists in other DC departments and performs non-routine tasks as needed while adhering to J. Jill safety, productivity, and quality standards.
Responsibilities :
- Partners with manager and supervisor to coordinate the productive and accurate flow of inventory through all segments of the department. Manages reserve area to ensure inventory is located accurately and timely. Oversees the retail store merchandise prep and packing operations to guarantee a smooth and consistent flow between all retail distribution areas and material handling functions.
- Maintains all necessary inventory and productivity reports in a timely and accurate manner. Runs and reviews reports to ensure inventory transactions are conducted appropriately. Verifies daily time sheets are filled out correctly and submitted to the time sheet processing department for data entry. Reviews and completes proper paperwork to ensure associates time worked and paid time off is reported accurately to the payroll department. Assist in hiring process of new department associates as required.
- Prepares merchandise for shipments to retail stores by accurately verifying SKU information, counting, and transferring merchandise into totes/cartons in the Put-to-Zone and packing operations.
- Supports training, setting expectations, motivating, coaching, and giving proper recognition of efforts of experienced associates and cross-train associates to ensure they are using the safest and best method to meet production and accuracy goals.
Qualifications :
Knowledge, Skills & Ability:
- Prior Retail Distribution experience strongly preferred.
- Solid skills in PkMS, as well as Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Strong decision making and coaching skills.
- Effective time management and organizational skills, ability to multi-task and attention to detail.
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Effective problem-solving skills.
- Ability to perform well under pressure/time constraints.
- Must be a team player.
- Project a positive attitude and work to achieve ad maintain high morale.
- Promote safe work methods.
Education & Experience:
- 1+ years of experience in a Distribution Center or similar environment, plus at least 1 year of inventory control experience.
- Associate, vocational, or technical degree preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Some sitting, typing, listening, talking, some standing, walking, bending, reaching overhead, pulling/pushing, repetitive motion, lifting up to 40lbs
