Overview :
J.Jill has the perfect opportunity for a District Manager who believes that strong leadership, talent development and having a strategic vision are key drivers of success. You will lead, motivate, and inspire 18 retail stores around Boston (in the backyard of our corporate office) and NY areas. You will have an opportunity to build strong teams, relationships and be entrepreneurial in this highly visible role. Responsibilities :
Focus on Talent Development and Team Leadership:
- Attract, coach, develop and continually recruit talent while building bench strength
- Create a cohesive, high-performing, talented team focused on growth and achieving goals
- Conduct ongoing training and development in our selling culture and techniques, customer obsessed culture, operational and visual merchandising standards, policies and procedures
- With support from your Area Manager, evaluate and coach performance, resolve associate relations issues, and ensure managers create an inspiring store atmosphere
Drive Sales Generation and Performance:
- Drive multi-store sales performance to ensure your stores achieve sales, KPIs, productivity goals and profitability
- Develop a strong collaborative environment as you own new company initiatives to test
- Forecast and analyze business trends. Develop strategic, actionable plans to improve store performance and maximize opportunities
- Build customer loyalty by coaching managers to identify and leverage customer outreach, store events, and company programs to acquire new customers and increase visits
Lead Visual Merchandising and Operational Excellence:
- Direct managers to plan, schedule, and execute floor sets and re-merchandising.
- Partner with Regional Visual Manager to develop your team’s visual merchandising skills
- Develop effective teams who achieve excellence in all operations including marketing, product replenishment, markdowns and promotions, reducing shrink, store cleanliness, backroom organization, company policies and procedures, and employment laws
- Lead and resolve LP investigations. Partner with Home Office Leaders, Store Operations and HR.

Qualifications :
Essential skills and experience:
- 6+ years of women’s specialty retail management experience
- 3+ years in a district manager or multi-store position preferred
- Obsessed with customer experience and evidence of growing a strong customer base
- Outstanding leadership, talent development, team building and networking skills
- Demonstrated ability to manage ambiguity, forecast, analyze business trends and create a strategy with a record of positive multi-store performance
- Passionate about fashion with exceptional style, merchandising and wardrobe skills
- Strong ability to assess markets, create exciting customer events and surface opportunities
Physical Requirements:
- Extensive standing, sitting, walking, reaching, bending, pushing/ pulling, and maneuvering around the store, lift and carry up to 42lbs, etc.
- Hang/fold merchandise, ladder climbing, operate POS register, occasionally operate trash compactor (where applicable), occasionally use hand truck
- Ability to travel to multiple stores
