Sr. Graphic Designer

Overview :

Follows production best practices to create and supply print ready files to production partners for cross channel deliverables including Catalog, Retail Signage, Direct Mail and On-Product. Oversees and takes ownership of projects moving through the pre-production process, ensuring accuracy of content, specs and adherence to brand standards. Partners with Design, Copy, Copy Editing and Project Management to complete all projects and meet the established schedules and deadlines.

Responsibilities :
  • Ensures accuracy of templates and files from start of project to release of final artwork.
  • Considers printing capabilities, print specs and artwork requirements prior to building and releasing any press ready artwork.
  • Becomes an expert on the J.Jill brand and how that translates to creative deliverables.
  • Designs customer facing deliverables, when required, using existing templates.
  • Releases creative files using our DAM system while ensuring suppliers have accurate dates and specifications on every job.
  • Acts as the point of contact for incoming proofs and manage the approval process within Workfront.
  • Inputs retail signage components within the vendors online portal for each collection.
  • Interacts with internal partners and external vendors during the production process.
  • Reviews the production process, identify area of improvement, and develop solutions.
  • Attends weekly status meetings and project kick-offs as required.
  • Maintains project & task status in Workfront.

Qualifications :
  • Strong production, design and typography capabilities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self starter and ability to work in a team environment.
  • Attention to detail and deadline oriented skills critical.
  • Must be flexible and adapt/react to change.
  • Must be organized and able to prioritize.
  • Must be able to multi-task.
  • Macintosh OS and experience with the following programs: Adobe CC, InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
  • Knowledge of DAM systems.
  • Knowledge of Workfront a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree focusing on Graphic Design/Visual Communications.
  • 4+ years of graphic design and/or print production experience.
  • Color input and proof mark-up experience a plus.
  • Strong catalog portfolio required.
